Katie (they/ them) is a licensed social worker with over 15 years of mental health and human service experience. Katie obtained their Bachelor’s degree from SUNY Fredonia in English and Women’s Studies, their Master’s in Social Work from the University at Buffalo, and is currently finishing their Doctorate in Social Work at Tulane University. Katie is an adjunct faculty member at Tulane University and a published researcher in the field of mental health with a focus on suicide, PTSD, and autism.

Katie has worked with people from a variety of backgrounds and prides themself on providing non-judgmental, trauma-informed, client-centered, culturally sensitive, and gender affirming care. Katie provides therapy for depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, substance use, and major life transitions. Katie has a special focus on treating LGBTQAI+ related trauma, including recovery from conversion therapy. Katie is also focused on creating a safe and affirming
therapeutic environment for non-binary, gender non-conforming, gender fluid, and transgender clients and their allies.

Katie is trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which is an evidence-based intervention for the treatment of trauma and PTSD. Katie is also a trained yoga instructor (RYT-200) and is trained in Yoga of 12 Step Recovery. Katie believes that each client is the expert on their own life experiences, and it is Katie’s aim to serve as a guide, not a guru or person that holds all the answers. Katie is honored to walk with clients on their road to their own healing and truth.
