I understand that before someone is ready to seek therapy, they have often already been down a difficult road. Making the decision to finally seek help is truly half the battle, and an accomplishment in itself. We may have been disappointed by past attempts at change, because while we can logically understand that our painful thoughts and beliefs may be untrue, they nonetheless still feel true. My approach to therapy bridges this gap by offering EMDR, amongst other therapeutic techniques. EMDR is an effective and research-supported treatment for trauma, anxiety and other related concerns which allows for meaningful, long-lasting relief.
Everyone has the right to mental health treatment that is well-informed and sensitive to the communities to which they belong. I have a great deal of experience providing affirmative therapy to LGBTQ+ individuals, and strive to create an environment where all cultures and identities are honored and celebrated.
